Can I believe my eyes?

While walking in L'Orme du Loup (Wolf Elms) yesterday, I thought I saw, amongst the mossy trunks, a pixie or fairy or some type of wood sprite.  Mayhap sunlight and leaf dapples were having a jest with me.  I did manage to snap a few frames before the apparition vanished, so I ask, do you see it, too, or was I only dreaming:

Of course one must doubt one's sanity when a giraffe was involved...  I've always thought the Wolf Elms had a bit of magic about them, but a giraffe?

Such a beautiful, mossy spot for this flower-clad pixie!

It was, and there were many other wonderful spots, too. Must return soon.

Considering that first photo, you're lucky you escaped with your life. She must not have recognized the camera and decided to let you live! ;) I'm guessing tribute will be required in return. . . .

Funny you should speak of tribute; I had the same thought!

Wolf Elms...wow. Now that is a story kernel. And the story, when it decants itself, will no doubt have a cherubic sprite with hair sprouting in ringlets from the crown of her head. *g*

I love the name, too! I'm always telling Julien stories about the woods when we walk there. Great minds... :D

Beautiful! How do you get her to sit still for so long?

It was very difficult! She had her Sophie the Giraffe most of the time, even if you can't see it in all the pictures, and was fiddling with it, so that occupied her a bit. At other times, she was intent on getting oak leaves and moss to her mouth. I just took LOTS of photos and didn't post all the fidgety ones. :P
