Out and Under in Singapore

mana_trini  has just headed out into the wilds of Singapore to hunt down skate parks and graffiti. Sadly, I'm feeling under the weather*, something I think I picked up in a hostel in Sydney, and need a day of rest in the hotel. We fly to Thailand tomorrow, and then begins our month-long jaunt across Southeast Asia. That's not a long time to visit four countries (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia), so I need to get my strength back.

So, on my agenda for this afternoon:

- reading (Karen Miller's Empress of Mijak, which I recommend, even though I still have 200 pages to go. I just discovered this writer and I like her writing A LOT thus far. I love the world she has created and how fully her characters are a part of that world.)
- brainstorming for Witherwilds. Brainz, you may be getting a request for feedback from me. We'll see what I can come up with on my own first.
- moving my iPhoto library to an external drive to clear up some space on my Mac. (We have over 9,800 photos)
- repacking my sack for tomorrow. Only allowed 15kg per person on the flight to Bangkok.

* Speaking of weather, I talked about it being humid in Sydney, but I had no call to complain.  It's ten times worse here in Singapore, and the rainy season is at an end.

Sorry you're feeling unwell. I hope you haven't caught one of those computer viruses that's been doing the rounds ;)

Feel better soon :)

Thanks for the well-wishes. I need them. :P Being sick is no fun, but sick on hols can be a disaster.

Sounds like an adventurous trek across Southeast Asia. My mother said to tell you Thailand was one of her favorite places. :-) She's been enjoying your journeying vicariously as I have.

And feel better soon!

Cool, I love hearing good reports about the places we are visiting! Your mom sounds like a well-traveled lady. :)

She did Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia back in the late 70s. Oh, and Tahiti and Bali on that same trip.

9,800 pictures!!! Wow. That camera's been getting a workout!

Thanks for the writer recommendation. I'll have to add her to my tottering TBR pile. :)

It's been lovely to see you on chat the last few nights. Enjoy Asia! Wave at Pakistan for me if you fly over it from India. *hugs*

Yes, we have too many photos. And can you believe that I often go through and cull some?

I believe Miller is an Aussie. The start of the book is pretty...hmmm, dark, but it lets you get to know the MC and to understand her more.

And yeah, I can't believe how easy it is to chat when I'm in this part of the world (may's the only one I have a harder time catching.)

Maybe you should just stay in SE Asia then. ;)

Hope you're feeling better ASAP.

Thanks. I hope I'm moving in the right direction, but I'm still worn out. It doesn't really help that our shuttle driver here in Bangkok was trying to stifle his coughs on the hour-long drive from the airport. Being exposed to whole other slew of germs when I'm already coming down with something can't bode well...
