Right now, frigg's stories of life in Switzerland where noise "pollution" is strictly (sometimes seemingly too strictly) controlled, especially in residential areas, make me dream of a land with snowy peaks and holey cheese.
Soon, very soon, I'm going to play a selection of music (Metallica's version of "Whiskey in the Jar," anyone?) at full blast for a couple of hours and see how they like it. I don't think Comorens can grasp how annoying blaring music is until it is something that they have no "ear" for. It really is a cultural thing because they even put speakers outside of stores and bust the drums trying to lure in clients.
Oooh, what's that I hear? Silence! Oh please, please, please don't let them turn it back on!
